Coming Up Rosies is a Chicago based nonprofit that empowers children to embrace their physical differences stemming from a medical journey. Our core values are empowerment and education, rooted in empathy.

Our mission is to restore confidence, happiness and pride to anyone struggling with low self-esteem during their medical journey, especially bald children. Our vision is a world where every child goes to sleep proud of their differences.

Our goal is to empower children to accept their differences through an artistic outlet. We have developed key partnerships within children’s hospitals and National Alopecia organizations globally. Smile Kits, a physical and tangible activity for a child to complete in the comfort of their home, or in a hospital bed. A Smile Kit consists of; paints, brushes, canvas, a Rosie head scarf for inspiration, our book “My Hair Went on Vacation”, and a custom print of their design (to be printed after parents have uploaded the jpeg image to our website). We send all finished designs to the children. Since 2016, we’ve donated 5,000+ Smile Kits to children in the US and abroad.
